Location:10 miles north of Los Banos.

Special Features:San Luis contains the most extensive network of pristine native grasslands, shrubs, and vernal pools that remain in the Central Valley.
Habitats: 26,340 acres of managed seasonal and permanent wetlands, riparian habitat, native grasslands, alkali sinks, and vernal pools.
Access: Open daily from 1/2 hour before sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunset.
Wild life: Mallards, pintails, green-winged teal, hawks, owls, crayfish, frogs, and San Joaquin kit fox.
