Location:13 miles west of Live Oak, off US 90.
Facilities:30 full-facility campsites, 5 fully-equipped cabins, 2 youth group tentcamping areas, 2 picnic pavilions (in addition to picnic tables at thecampsites), nature trails, boat ramp.
Activities:Camping, boating, canoeing, freshwater fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, tram tours.
Special Features:A high bluff in the park overlooks the spot where the WithlacoocheeRiver flows into the Suwannee on its way to the Gulf of Mexico. Otherfeatures at the park that show the Suwanee's importance to Floridahistory include long mounds of earthworks built during the Civil War byConfederate troops to guard against incursions by Union Navy gunboats,a cemetery that's one of the state's oldest, and a paddlewheel shaftfrom a 19th Century steamboat.
