Suzanne Bastide

Bastide, Suzanne

 

Born Aug. 15, 1906, in Rennes, France. French lawyer; professor of international law at the University of Paris; member of the Institute of International Law; chairman of the administrative tribunal of the United Nations.

Bastide is the author of works on international law and on international administrative procedure, including International Functionaries (1931), International Law (1948–49), International Administrative Disputes (1953, 1955), The Law of Nations: Law of International Crises (1954), The Legal Conditions for Coexistence (1955), and General Principles ofInternational Law (1958), in addition to a course in international public law (5th ed., 1949–64).
