San Remo, Conference of,
1920, meeting with the purpose of ratifying decisions made at the Paris peace conference of May, 1919. Representatives of Great Britain, France, Italy, Japan, Greece, and Belgium met at San Remo, Italy, in Apr., 1920, to discuss problems arising from World War I. Members of the supreme council of the Allies took leading parts. Methods of executing the Treaty of Versailles (1919) were discussed, the basic features of a peace treaty with Turkey (see Sèvres, Treaty ofSèvres, Treaty of,1920, peace treaty concluded after World War I at Sèvres, France, between the Ottoman Empire (Turkey), on the one hand, and the Allies (excluding Russia and the United States) on the other.
