Taz Peninsula

a peninsula in Tiumen’ Oblast, RSFSR, in the northern part of the Western Siberian Plain. Situated between Ob’ Bay in the west and Taz Bay in the east, the Taz Peninsula is about 200 km long, with an average width of 100 km. The land is a plain, sloping slightly in the east toward Taz Bay and dropping in the west in high scarps toward Ob’ Bay. The maximum elevation is about 100 m. The peninsula has tundra vegetation.
