Tazret Besaev
Besaev, Tazret Urusbievich
Born June 14 (27), 1910, in the village of Mastinok, North Ossetia. Soviet Ossetian writer.
In 1937, Besaev graduated from the Institute of Philosophy, Literature, and History in Moscow. Public Singer, his first collection of poems, was published in 1931. The novella Who Gets the Upper Hand, or the Last Adventure of Mullah Muhammed (1933) depicts the class struggle in North Ossetia. The novella Duty describes the struggle of the Soviet people against the fascist aggressors. Besaev wrote the novel Hope (1949), the play Song of the Brave (1959), and the novella The Heart Is a Witness (1963).
