a city in western Colombia, on the western slope of the Cordillera Central, in the department of Risaralda. Population, 83,000 (1968). Santa Rosa de Cabal has a railroad station. The city is the trade center for an agricultural region that grows coffee, cacao, sugarcane, and rice and raises livestock. Agricultural products are also processed. Silver and gold are mined in the surrounding region.
