Any of a number of anxiety-related conversion reactions caused by endogenous or exogenous stress.
Examples
Hysterical reactions, psychogenic chest pain, psychogenic polydipsia, psychogenic purpura, psychophonasthenia, and “women-who-fall” syndrome (a conversion reaction to aggressive or erotic impulses).
