Troitskii, Vsevolod Sergeevich

 

Born Mar. 12 (25), 1913, in the village of Mikhailovskoe, Bogoroditsk Raion, Tula Oblast. Soviet astronomer. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1970). Member of the CPSU since 1944.

Troitskii graduated from the University of Gorky in 1941 and joined the staff of the Gorky Radiophysical Institute in 1948. His main works deal with radio astronomy and its applications. In 1974, Troitskii received the A. S. Popov Prize of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR for his series of investigations called Radio Emissions of the Moon. Troitskii has been awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and various medals.
