Usagara

a mountainous region on the eastern margin of the East African Plateau in Tanzania. The region is composed of Pre-cambrian crystalline rocks. Usagara is characterized by ancient planation surfaces, over which rise residual mountain peaks; the elevation reaches 2,101 m at Mount Lusona. Thornbushes and dry, thin forests of tropical deciduous trees grow in the region.
