Uchami

 

a river in Krasnoiarsk Krai, RSFSR. The Uchami is a left tributary of the Nizhniaia Tunguska River in the basin of the Enisei. It is 466 km long and drains an area of 21,000 sq km. The Uchami flows along the Central Siberian Plateau in a deep valley. It forms rapids and shivery (stony shallow stretches, with rapid currents, in rivers in Siberia and the Urals). The Uchami is fed by snow and rain. It freezes over in October, and the ice breaks up in May. The river’s principal right tributaries are the Vetete and the Biramba. Its main left tributary is the Tere.
