unquoted securities

Unquoted Security

A security that previously traded on an exchange but no longer does. A security may become unquoted if the market capitalization of its issuing company falls to the point that it no longer meets an exchange's listing requirements. An unquoted security, then, is very high risk. However, its price is likely to be low and, if it comes back, an unquoted security can provide a substantial return.

unquoted securities

SHARES or DEBENTURES in JOINT-STOCK COMPANIES which are not traded in the STOCK MARKET or for which no price is regularly quoted. It is difficult to determine the value of an unquoted security since no regular market exists for such a security.
