Sverdrup Land

the southern part of Ellesmere Island (Canadian Arctic Archipelago), set apart from the rest of the island by the Baumann Fjord system in the west and Makinson Inlet in the east. Named in honor of the Norwegian polar explorer H. Sverdrup.
