giant bird's nest

A scary looking reddish brown, sometimes purple stalk with no leaves covered with drooping downward-pointing white-golden bell-shaped flowers. Doesn’t look edible, but it is. No chlorophyll- it gets it’s nutrients from decaying matter like mushrooms do. The stems and berries are astringent, disinfectant and homeostatic. Tea used traditionally to stop bleeding from nose, lungs, also gonorrhea.
