Stevens, Risé

(1913– ) mezzo-soprano; born in New York City. After finding her first successes in Prague, she debuted at the Metropolitan Opera in 1938, where she remained popular for many years, meanwhile appearing internationally. From 1975 to 1978 she was president of the Mannes College of Music.
