Sosnovka

 

a city (since 1962) in Viatskie Poliany Raion, Kirov Oblast, RSFSR. Landing on the left bank of the Viatka River. Railroad station on the Kazan’-Agryz line. Population, 16,000 (1975). Sosnovka has a wood-working combine, a large-scale lumber transshipment base, a shipyard, and a butter factory.

Sosnovka

 

a city in L’vov Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, under the jurisdiction of the Chervonograd city soviet; located near the Selets-Zavone railroad station on the L’vov-Kovel’ line. Population, 11,200 (1975). Coal is mined in the area.


Sosnovka

 

an urban-type settlement and adminstrative center of Sosnovka Raion, Tambov Oblast, RSFSR. Terminal station (Chelnovaia) of an 84-km branch of the Riazan’-Michurinsk line. Sovnovka is located 171 km north of the city of Tambov. The settlement has a packaging plant for meat and poultry, a distillery, a creamery, and a brickyard.


Sosnovka

 

an urban-type settlement in the Chuvash ASSR, under the jurisdiction of the Moscow raion soviet of the city of Cheboksary. Located on the left bank of the Volga, 3 km from Cheboksary, Sosnovka has a woodworking combine, a logging and timber distribution establishment, and a peat-processing enterprise. It also has a sanatorium and houses of rest.


Sosnovka

 

a climatic health resort in Cherkassy Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Sosnovka is located on the right bank of the Dnieper River, 10 km from the Cherkassy railroad station. Summers are warm, with an average July temperature of 20°C, and winters are mild, with an average January temperature of –6°C. Annual precipitation totals 510 mm. There are sanatoriums for persons suffering from tuberculosis of the lungs. Sosnovka has a sandy beach.
