St.-Germain-en-Laye, Treaty of 1679

a peace treaty between France and Sweden on the one hand and Brandenburg on the other, signed on June 29, 1679, in St.-Germain-en-Laye, near Paris. Along with the Nijmegen peace treaties of 1678–79, the Treaty of St.-Germain-en-Laye outlined the terms of peace at the end of the Dutch War of 1672–78. According to the treaty, Brandenburg officially withdrew from the war. Almost all of Swedish Pomerania, which the elector of Brandenburg had occupied during the war, was returned to Sweden, except for a small portion on the right bank of the Oder River.
