Votkinsk Reservoir
a reservoir formed by the dam of the Votkinsk Hydroelectric Power Plant of the Kama River, on the territory of Perm’ Oblast and the Udmurt ASSR. The Votkinsk Reservoir was filled with water between 1962 and 1964. Area, 1,120 sq km; volume, 9.4 cu km; length, 365 km; greatest width, 9 km; average depth, 8.4 m. The level of the reservoir fluctuates within a 4 m range.
The Votkinsk Reservoir is used in regulating the seasonal flow. It was built for energy and water transport purposes. There is fishing (carp-bream, pike, pike perch, ide, and others). The cities of Perm’, Krasnokamsk, Nytva, Okhansk, Osa, and Chaikovskii are on the shores of Votkinsk Reservoir.
