Amenorrhea due to normal body function. The amenorrhea may be due to immaturity in the prepubescent girl, aging in the postmenopausal woman, or hormonal interruptions in the gonadotropic feedback loop as occur during pregnancy and lactation; it is not related to organic disease. See also: amenorrhea
