Shorin Telegraph

 

one of the first Soviet start-stop printing telegraphs, introduced in 1929 and named for its inventor, A. F. Shorin. The Shorin telegraph transmits with a five-unit equal-length code. When the device is used in a receiving mode, the message texts are automatically printed onto a tape. The Shorin telegraph was replaced in the mid-1930’s by more advanced equipment.
