Public Elevator Public ElevatorA grain elevator in which grain producers may store excess grain. Since one producer's grain is not differentiated from another producer's, grain may (and probably will) be mixed together. Some public elevators are recognized as an appropriate storage facility for the underlying assets on futures contracts, but they must be certified as such by an exchange. |
