Saspeiry

ancient Georgian tribes of the fifth century B.C. who inhabited the mountain region located in the upper reaches of the Chorokh, Euphrates, and Araks rivers as part of the Achaemenid Empire. The Saspeiry were the ancestors of the Kartlians—a group of eastern Georgian tribes, under whose hegemony an early class state was formed in Kartli in the fourth to third centuries B.C.
