Piatikhatki

a city (since 1938), administrative center of Piatikhatki Raion, Dnepropetrovsk Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Railroad junction with lines to Dnepropetrovsk, Znamenka, and Krivoi Rog. Population, 20,600 (1974). Railroad transport maintenance enterprises, an automotive repair plant, a butter factory, and a bakery are located there. A museum of local lore is also in the city.
