Short-Form Registration

Short-Form Registration

A procedure that allows a firm to condense its registration statement and prospectus by referencing financial data already on file with the SEC.

Short-Form Registration

A document filed with the SEC explaining a new issue of securities for public trade. A short-form registration allows the registering company to reference its previous registration statement to avoid repeating information. This especially applies to information on the issuer's financial situation. Short-form registration makes registration of new issues easier for the issuer.
