Location:38 miles southeast of Creston, Montana.

Activities:Boating, fishing, hunting, educational programs.
Special Features:Swan River, which once meandered through the floodplain, has been forced toward the west by deposits of silt, leaving a series of oxbow sloughs within the refuge floodplain.
Habitats: 1,568 acres of grassland, forest, oxbow sloughs, forest.
Access: Open during daylight hours; portions may be closed to protect nesting birds.
Wild life: Migratory birds; also elk, deer, moose, grizzly and black bears, beavers, river otters, and muskrats.
