Vakhrushev

an urban-type settlement in Sakhalin Oblast, RSFSR. Railroad station 55 km south of Poronaisk. Population, 11,000 (1969). There is coal mining and woodworking. The southern Sakhalin regional electric power plant is located there. The settlement was named in honor of V. V. Vakhrushev.
