Akhurian

Zapadnyi Arpachai, a river; left tributary of the Araks. Its upper course is in the Armenian SSR; its middle and lower, along the border between the Armenian SSR and Turkey. Length, 186 km; basin area, 9,670 sq. km. The Akhurian River flows out of the Arpilichskoe reservoir, which was created in 1950. The river is used for irrigation.
