Satirikon
Satirikon
a Russian weekly satirical journal, published in St. Petersburg from 1908 to 1914. A group of its authors published the journal Novyi satirikon from 1913 to 1918. A. T. Aver-chenko was editor of Satirikon beginning with number 9 and of Novyi satirikon. Principal contributors to Satirikon included the graphic artists A. A. Radakov, N. V. Remizov-Vasil’ev (Re-mi), A. A. lunger (Boian), and A. V. Remizova (Miss) and the writers Sasha Chernyi, Teffi, and A. S. Bukhov. V. V. Mayakovsky contributed to Novyi satirikon from 1915 to 1917. Satirikon and Novyi Satirikon published inoffensive humorous articles, as well as bold political satire and caustic jibes directed at reactionary churchmen and ministers, members of the Black Hundreds, and conservative journalists.
