Location:Two miles northeast of downtown; enter on Park Drive off Monroe Drive.
Facilities:Picnic areas with pavilions, gazebo, bathhouse, lake with fishing pier and dock, swimming pools, trails, botanical garden, stage, playground, ball fields, sports courts, leash-free dog area, visitor center.
Activities:Fishing, swimming, tennis, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, running, recreation and environmental programs.
Special Features:A part of Piedmont Park's acreage is occupied by Atlanta BotanicalGarden which features tropical, desert, and endangered plants fromaround the world. Guided tours of the park are offered by volunteersfrom Piedmont Park Conservancy on Saturday mornings, April throughOctober. In November 2006 the park completed a two-year, $1.8 millionrenovation of its field complex. New features included in therenovation included new softball and soccer fields, regulation-sizesand volleyball courts, and a running track.
