Saukdara Bol’shoi

 

a glacier on the southern slope on the Transalai Range of the Pamirs in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast. The Saukdara Bol’shoi lies at the sources of the Sauksai River southeast of Lenin Peak. It has a length of 25.2 km and widths ranging from 700 to 1,200 m; it covers an area of 69.2 sq km. The upper end of the glacier has an elevation of 3,980 m. The ice surface is covered with moraine.

The Malyi Saukdara lies in the valley of a right tributary of the Sauksai. It has a length of 13.1 km and widths ranging from 500 to 700 m. The Malyi Saukdara covers an area of 21.2 sq km, and its upper end has an elevation of 4,120 m.
