Savage principle

Savage principle

[′sav·ij ‚prin·sə·pəl] (mathematics) A technique used in decision theory; a criterion is used to construct a regret matrix in which each outcome entry represents a regret defined as the difference between best possible outcome and the given outcome; the matrix is then used as in decision making under risk with expected regret as the decision-determining quality. Also known as regret criterion.
