Tsulukidze

 

(until 1936, Khoni), a city since 1921 and the administrative center of Tsulukidze Raion, Georgian SSR. Situated on the Colchis Lowland, 22 km north of the Samtredia railroad junction. Tsulukidze has a silk-spinning factory, a tea factory, and a plant manufacturing plastic packagings. There is a technicum for the mechanization and electrification of agriculture. Tsulukidze has a national theater and a museum of local lore. The city was named in honor of A. G. Tsulukidze, who was born and is buried in Khoni.
