Vialozero

a lake in Murmansk Oblast, RSFSR, situated in the southeastern part of the Kola Peninsula (Kandalaksha shore) at an elevation of 121 m. Its area is 98.6 sq km. The shores are indented and there are many inlets. The lake is fed by surface waters and atmospheric precipitations. It freezes in late October and in November, and the ice breaks up in the second half of May and in June. The Viala River, a left tributary of the Umba River, originates from Vialozero. [5_1804-1]
