pul·mo·nar·y veins

[TA] four veins, two on each side, conveying oxygenated blood from the lungs to the left atrium of the heart. Those from the left lung and the inferior vein from the right lung are lobar veins, each draining a single lobe with the corresponding name; the right superior pulmonary vein drains both the superior and middle lobes of the right lung.
