Verkhnedneprovsk

a city, administrative center of Verkhnedneprovsk Raion, Dnepropetrovsk Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Located 13 km from the Verkhnedneprovsk rail-road station, on the Dnepropetrovsk-Verkhovtsevo line. Population, 12,200 (1969). The city has plants that produce paper machines and butter, There is an accounting technicum and the Museum of Historical and Revolutionary Glory. Verkhnedneprovsk was founded in 1780 and became a city in 1956.
