Verkhnedneprovskii

an urban-type settlement in Dorogobuzh Raion, Smolensk Oblast, RSFSR. Situated on the right bank of the upper reach of the Dnieper, 4 km from the railroad station Strukovo. Population, 7,900 (1969). The Dorogobuzh state regional electrical power plant is located here. It has plants producing boilers, nitric fertilizers, and board and roofing felt.
