Verkhoiansk Complex
Verkhoiansk Complex
(named for the Verkhoiansk Range), a local Upper Paleozoic section of Siberia. The name was proposed in 1938 by N. P. Kheraskov for a thick stratum (approximately 10 km) of principally marine sandstone-argillaceous rocks belonging to various subdivisions of the Carboniferous (beginning with the Namurian stage) and Permian periods.
