Verkhovina

an urban-type settlement and center of Verkhovina Raion, Ivano-Frankovsk Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Situated on the Chernyi Cheremosh River (in the Danube Basin), 31 km from the Vorokhta railway station. Population, 6,900 (1968). Verkhovina has a lumber combine and a souvenir factory (souvenirs of wood, Hutzul attire, and the like).
