Reshetilovka Sheep

a coarse-wooled sheep raised for lamb’s wool and milk. Its name derives from the village of Reshetilovka, which is now an urban-type settlement in Poltava Oblast. The sheep have a long thin tail, which hangs down below the tarsal joint. The coarse wool is approximately 30 cm long, and a wool clip weighs 2.5 to 4 kg. The lambs yield fur that is mainly black in color and is of a lower quality than karakul. As a result of the crossing of Reshetilovka and Karakul sheep over a long period of time, crossbreeds have been produced whose fur is of the same quality as karakul.
