Valerius Antias

Valerius Antias

Lived during the first century B.C. Roman historian. Representative of the so-called Young Annalist School.

Valerius Antias is the author of the Annals —an extensive work (75 books) that encompassed events from the founding of Rome to the death of Sulla. The chief purpose of this work by Valerius Antias was the glorification of Rome, and especially the Valerii family. Only insignificant excerpts of Valerius Antias’ Annals have been preserved.
