Facilities:11 picnic shelters, group shelter, playgrounds, hiking trails (9miles), lake, boat ramps, 2 fishing docks, canoe and fishing boat rentals, visitor centerand museum.
Activities:Camping, boating (no gas motors), lake and stream fishing, hiking, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Only minutes from downtown Atlanta, Sweetwater Creek is a peacefultract of wilderness with miles of trails, shady streams, and 215-acreGeorge Sparks Reservoir. The site includes the ruins of the NewManchester Manufacturing Company, a textile mill burned down during theCivil War.
