Arabat Tongue

a long, narrow bar composed mainly of shell material, which separates the Sivash sound from the Sea of Azov. The Arabat Tongue is about 100 km long and from 270 m to 8 km wide. In the north the Arabat Tongue is separated from the continent by the narrow Genichesk Strait.
