Vineyard Planting Unit
Vineyard Planting Unit
a mounted piece of equipment for forming hollows under the seedlings or cuttings that are being planted. The unit makes from six to ten hollows simultaneously and is mounted on a two-ton tractor. The basic parts of the vineyard planting unit are the bars with guides; a vortex pump, two waterlines with hydraulic drills attached to them and delivering the jets of water for forming the hollows in the soil, and a hitch assembly for the tank. The hydraulic drills are raised and lowered by the tractor’s hydraulic system. The vineyard planting unit is operated by a tractor driver, two planters, two workers who hill up the plants, two workers who pack the soil around the plants, and a worker who sets out the plantings.
The APV-10-2 unit produced in the USSR forms hollows to 60 cm in depth; its productivity is 0.46-0.61 hectares per hour.
