Location:500-mile route across the Alleghenies through nine counties in southwestern Pennsylvania.
Special Features:Features hundreds of sites relating to the nation’s industrial story. Included are the Altoona Railyards, the Johnstown Flood National Memorial and Museum (see separate entry), the steel mills of Johnstown, and Horseshoe Curve, a 19th century engineering marvel built by the Pennsylvania Railroad.
