Vinogradov

(Sevliush until 1946), a city; administrative center of Vinogradov Raion, Transcarpathian (Zakarpatskaia) Ob last, Ukrainian SSR. Railroad station (VinogradovTranscarpathian). Population, 20,000 (1968). Vinogradov has factories for furniture, garments, footwear, brick-tile, and sanitary-engineering plastics. It has a food industry (fruit preserves, cheese, and other factories), a polytechnic school, and a medical school. There is viticulture and horticulture in the area. Vinogradov is mentioned in ninth-century documents.
