Special Features:The grouping known as Pinson Mounds consists of at least 15 earthen mounds (including the second tallest ceremonial mound in the United States), a geometic enclosure, habitation areas, and related earthworks. A number of cremation and activity areas have been found nearby. Fieldwork is normally conducted in the summer, and visitors are welcome to watch the archeologists at work.
