A form of diabetes mellitus (OMIM:601410) defined by the onset of hyperglycaemia within the first months of life. In about half of cases, the diabetes is transient and resolves at 3 months of age; in the rest, it is permanent.Molecular pathology
Caused by defects of ZFP57 on chromosome 6p22.1, or PLAG1 on 6p24.2.
