Sovet Karakalpakstany

(Soviet Kara-Kalpakia), a republic-wide Kara-Kalpak-language newspaper of the Kara-Kalpak ASSR. The newspaper was founded in 1924 and is published five times a week in Nukus. Circulation, 66,000 (1975). SovetKarakalpakstany was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor in 1968.
