Sovetskoe

an urban-type settlement and administrative center of Sovetskoe Raion, Kabarda-Balkar ASSR. Sovetskoe is located in the foothills of the Greater Caucasus, on the left bank of the Cherek River of the Terek River basin, 45 km south of the city of Nal’chik. Enterprises include the Kashkatau Cannery and a woodworking plant.
