Aksuat Lake
a lake in the Kazakh SSR, located in the Turgaiskaia Trough. It has an area of 50–150 sq km (varying with the water level) and a depth of up to 3 m. The banks are rugged, and the bottom is muddy. Aksuat Lake consists of Bol’shoi Aksuat and Malyi Aksuat, joined by a channel 700 m long. The Aksuat is fed by the Karasu River. In years of low precipitation the Aksuat goes dry. The water has a high mineral content.
